Teens In Perspective, Inc. or T.I.P. is an innovative leadership development program for motivated teen girls, ages 13-18 from low to moderate income families. We are committed to reaching out to young girls through our seven arms of service. This support affords us to offer quality services and programming that provides an open, safe atmosphere conducive for growth and development.
The T.I.P. program is in session from September to June, bi-weekly on Saturdays. T.I.P. provides leadership programming to all teen girls without regard to religious belief, national origin, or cultural differences. During the summer months, July and August, TIP meets monthly. Our main focus during these months is to assist and encourage members to partake in expanding their reading skills via TIP’s Literacy Program/Book Club, summer employment, college prep programs, and summer school.
Teens In Perspective provides life skills and leadership training, mentorship, educational/ cultural explorative trips, community service projects, individual goal plans, oratory& motivational trainings, teen forums, and various workshops. The teen forums and most workshops are open to the community. In addition, T.I.P. offers other activities to members with the idea of keeping them off the streets and giving them constructive alternatives. These activities include the T.I.P. Performing Arts aimed at developing & enhancing talents and instructional basketball camps aimed at developing & enhancing fundamental basketball skills.
