We are inviting all Parents/Guardians to join us this year for an exciting seminar experience! In 2012, we are challenging parents to DREAM again...to search back in time to find our passions, our hope, or some part of ourselves that have been lost throughout our journey in life. We will learn how to play again and find the small things in life that brings laughter! We will examine the power of the role called PARENT and the impact it has on the lives of our children. We will hear the testimony of those who 'HAD' a dream and how they once again found hope, strength, and determination to LIVE again with a DREAM stirring deep within. We will take a stand on our kids education by learning what is "Raise To The Top" and how this new statewide reform will affect our kid's education. And, we will have the opportunity to gain insight on managing life's stresses, relationships, family, drama, finances, and hardships through a dynamic panel of men/women.
Past topics presented included staggering delaware statistics about teens/sex, the 'how to's" of talking with your teen, and having open discussions on teen issues that are affecting us and our kids daily. Every parent wants to know more about issues concerning their pre-teens or teenagers, such as sex, drugs/alcohol, bad attitudes, technology & sex, school problems, and unhealthy relationships. Each year we aim to keep parents abreast of important information and resources empowering Delaware's families to form safe, stable, and informed communities.
All parents must register by sending in their $10 registration fee with a registration form located on the TIP website or by obtaining one from First State Community Action, Sussex Boys & Girls Club, local schools and churches.
You do not have to be a parent/guardian of a child participating in the girls empowerment conference (at same location) to attend the 2012 PIP Symposium.
